World Police and Fire Games 2009
Just met the loud Russian Ministry of Home Affairs soccer team cruising the streets of Vancouver showing off their blue uniforms. Had a chat and wished all the luck on the upcoming match with the Brazilian team, tonight, August 3! Da, they are too among the many international teams competing in the 2009 World Police and Fire Games that are now running full speed all over town.
-What’s the prize? I asked
-The winner gets a whole medal and all the fame and respect you can imagine.
An incentive to compete for, I’ll say.
Started July 31, the games will run through August 9, will mark more than 40 venues and present more than 60 sporting events in 50 sport categories. It’s a serious project, alright.
The weather thankfully allows for such an event.
